As our first Developer Advocate, you’ll play a foundational role in taking our developer content strategy from 0-1 by crafting great resources to help developers build with Paragon.
You'll have the opportunity to influence how thousands of developers think about and approach building integrations for their applications, through education and helpful resources.
This will include building product demos and tutorials, testing the limits of our product with a wide range of use cases (including building AI software applications), and writing how-to guides and thought leadership content for engineering leaders, and much more.
Once you become more familiar with the product and our customers’ use cases, you will also become a trusted partner for our Product team, informing roadmap prioritization decisions.

What You'll Do
- Become an expert on integration use cases: Understand how customers are using Paragon, the use cases they’re enabling for their customers, common integration and usage patterns, and the nitty gritty challenges around integration development.
- Build technical content and resources: Create deeply technical content (tutorials, integration workflow examples, code samples) showcasing the extensibility of Paragon for a wide range of use cases.
- Craft thought leadership content: Position Paragon as a thought leader by giving developers insight into all the challenges around integration development, anything from high volume data ingestion to spinning up hundreds of webhook listeners.
- Work hand-in-hand with growth: Content is the fuel that enables our growth initiatives to continually drive demand for the product, and you will work closely with the team to ensure the right content is created and distributed.
- Partner closely with product, marketing and solutions engineering: Support our feature launches with technical content, tutorials, and demos to help developers understand the value of the features.
- Market positioning: Become an expert in the integration platform market, by researching and understanding all of the different solutions that exist, and informing our competitive strategy.
- Attend conferences: Attend industry conferences with our team, where you’ll be a go-to resource for technical questions and in-person demos.
- And more: This role can evolve as much as you’re willing to invest in it - once the core responsibilities are well-executed, there are endless possibilities for where we can take the developer advocacy function.
What You'll Need
- 2+ years of experience in software engineering
- Passionate about building and tinkering with software products
- You have a working knowledge of databases, APIs, webhooks, LLMs
- You have experience with and enjoy writing content (Medium, dev.to, substack, past companies etc.)
- Experience building sample projects, technical product demos, or tutorials.
- Experience working within cross-functional teams (product management, marketing, product engineering, support, customer success, etc).
- Scrappy, can move fast, and have an iterative mindset.
- Can communicate complex topics in a concise and digestible manner, striking the balance between technical depth and simplicity.
- Able and willing to work long hours to take advantage of time-sensitive opportunities (when needed).
- Data and outcome oriented - you align all your work to broader company-level goals.
- Self-starter - if you have ideas, you take the initiative to execute it. If you run into problems, you look for ways to solve it.
