Job Description

Honey Homes is hiring the best handymen and remodelers in the Peninsula! You'll work near where you live, either on a dedicated territory of 40 to 50 homes or on our larger projects crew. No client hunting, no unpredictable schedules, no weekends. Just steady, well paid work close to home. We serve over 4,000 homeowners across California, Texas, and Illinois, and we're growing fast, so there's real room to move up. We're offering a $1,500 sign on bonus for qualified candidates, paid out in full after you complete training and remain onboard for 30 days.

Two Ways To Work With Us

1. Dedicated Handyman

You work with a small group of homeowners to help them maintain their homes, about 40 to 50 homes in a small territory near where you live. You visit on a regular schedule, get to know every house, and become the trusted handyman each homeowner calls. Not a different face every visit.

2. Remodeling Technician

You work on multi day residential projects: exterior repaints, dry rot repair, decks and fences, doors and trim, bathroom refreshes with plumbing and electrical. A project lead scopes the job and sets the plan, so you just build.

Same pay, same hours, same benefits either way. Tell us which one fits you and we'll match you to it. The work is sold and scheduled before you show up. No bidding, no invoicing, no chasing clients.

What You Get

  • Great pay: $40/hr ($80,000 per year) plus equity in the business.

  • Sign on bonus: $1,500, paid in full after training and 30 days onboard.

  • Great hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm. No nights, weekends, required overtime, or on call.

  • Work close to home: your territory is a small area, not the whole metro. Less driving, more working.

  • Generous time off: 12 paid holidays plus 13 PTO/sick days.

  • Benefits and perks: 100% company paid health, vision, and dental; 401(k); life insurance; flexible spending accounts; and a company phone.

  • Real growth opportunities: roles like field trainer, senior handyman, and project lead as we expand.

  • Mileage reimbursement: paid for all local driving between jobs.

What You'll Do

  • Perform residential repair, maintenance, and remodel work across multiple trades:

    • Carpentry (doors, trim, framing, dry rot, decks, fences)

    • Painting and drywall patching

    • Plumbing (toilets, faucets, valves, minor pipe repairs)

    • Electrical (fixtures, outlets, switches, ceiling fans, small wiring tasks)

    • Smart home device installation

  • Provide outstanding customer service and build strong relationships. You're in members' homes, and they need to trust you.

  • Use our app to track jobs, tasks, and schedules.

What Homeowners Say

“I love having a personal handyman, not just someone random every visit. The quality of his work is wonderful.” (Honey Homes member)

“The team is so kind and proactive. They get so much done every visit and are really resourceful and creative problem solvers.” (Honey Homes member)

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of handyman, maintenance technician, remodeling, or multi-trade experience.

  • Hands on skill across carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and drywall.

  • Prior work as a maintenance technician, carpenter, plumber, or electrician strongly preferred.

  • Experience in residential home repair and upkeep across multiple trade areas.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving ability. You can independently assess and fix most issues in a home.

  • Attention to detail (clean caulk lines, professional patching and painting).

  • Customer friendly attitude: great listener, strong communicator, proactive.

  • Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and your own tools.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly (with or without reasonable accommodation).

  • Comfortable working on ladders or scaffolding at heights up to 12 feet.

You do not need a contractor's, electrical, or plumbing license. Permitted work is handled separately.
