Who we are
Arena Physica is on a mission to accelerate hardware innovation that powers human progress. Our name is inspired by Theodore Roosevelt's 'Citizenship in a Republic' speech. To us, entering the Arena means committing fully and accepting the risk of failure in pursuit of an audacious, worthy cause. We believe the future belongs to those brave enough to build it.
Our team of 50 combines AI engineering and applied physics expertise with deep experience in enterprise deployments. We're headquartered in NYC with presences in San Francisco and Los Angeles, backed by ~$90M from Initialized, Founders Fund, Goldcrest Capital, Fifth Down Capital, and Shield Capital.
If you're ready to do the most important work of your career, join us in the Arena.
What we do
At Arena Physica, we're building electromagnetic superintelligence. Our AI platform Atlas operationalizes physics-grounded intelligence to verify, debug, and optimize hardware across its lifecycle. Atlas is already trusted globally by the world's most advanced hardware companies, including AMD, Anduril, and Bausch & Lomb, for applications across R&D, integration testing, production assembly, and field repair.
About the role
As a founding member of our editorial team, you'll own how our research is shared with the world, not through marketing or press releases, but through deeply technical essays, video explainers, and the stories that take complex ideas in electromagnetism and make them understandable. You'll own the editorial bar for your domain and decide what's worth sharing.
The job has two parts. The first is being in the room. You will embed with our Research Scientists and Electrical Engineers, follow the work, and create pieces worth sharing. That means understanding the physics well enough to know what's real, what's new, and what's interesting. The second is making the content. You will create or commission long-form pieces, and shape the storylines behind our videos, partnering with our production and creative team.
How you will contribute
- Embed with our Research team - Follow the work as it develops, and find the ideas worth telling
- Own the writing - Produce essays, explainers, and profiles that make hard technical work legible to a smart general audience, and edit contributions from Researchers
- Build video storylines - Build the storylines and scripts behind our videos, from the first idea to the final cut, partnering with our production team
- Own the editorial bar for your domain - Decide what's worth sharing, source other contributors, and set a best-in-class standard for our publications
- Travel domestically and internationally (up to 15% of your time).
- Work in person at Arena Physica's NYC HQ when not traveling.
You have
- 3+ years of experience writing or editing about science and technology, ideally at a publication known for making hard subjects rigorous and readable (i.e., Quanta, MIT Technology Review)
- A real understanding of physics - you studied or worked in Applied Physics, RF, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field, enough to have a technical conversation with our Researchers
- A track record of published work - you have authored pieces in respected journals or publications that took something genuinely complex and made it legible
- Exceptional written and verbal storytelling - you can take a dense technical idea and turn it into clear words and interesting visuals that go with it
- A scrappy, fast-moving builder's instinct - you are excited about a new frontier with no playbook, owning initiatives end-to-end, and adapting as circumstances change
Benefits & Perks Include:
- 100% of the monthly premiums covered with Aetna medical vision, and dental insurance for you and your dependents
- 401(k) Retirement Plan
- Unlimited PTO
