How you will contribute:

• As a DevOps Engineer at Arena you will own the implementation and improvement of our cloud, devops, and security landscapes. You will work closely with our CTO and product teams to execute projects that allow our technology to scale as we grow our customer base, ensure we uphold our security and compliance standards, and improve the productivity of our engineers.
• In the short term this includes:
  • Reducing devops friction and failures
  • Automating AWS infrastructure management
  • Owning permission and access controls implementation
  • Ensuring SOC compliance
  • Improving monitoring and observability
• In the long term, this includes:
  
  • Developing self-service infrastructure provisioning and software delivery
  • Owning SOC2 compliance and automating our security posture
  • Ensuring all production systems are managed via Terraform
  • Improving our monitoring and alerting systems, working closely with our product development teams
  • Owning container orchestration systems
  • Pioneering and implementing best practices for Arena’s cloud infrastructure

Required qualifications:

• Working full time in our office in NYC
• Passion for AI and building machine learning systems
• Passion for good engineering, clean code, and scalability
• Interest and enthusiasm for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
• Eagerness to go 0 to 1 on business critical efforts
• Eagerness to work multiple teams and context switch
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming
• Proficiency in automating service deployments in the cloud, ideally in AWS
• Proficiency in Linux administration
• Proficiency in container orchestration using Docker or Kubernetes
• Proficiency in monitoring and alerting systems like Datadog
• Proficiency in Terraform

It would be great if you have:

• Experience spearheading devops best practices in a startup environment
• Experience owning security and SOC compliance for an enterprise-facing company

The base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000 yr. However, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, we also offer competitive equity and benefits packages.
